Juicy Jawns: Philly's Got a New Nickname!

January 31, 2020
Categories:

PHILLY MAY BE KNOWN AS THE "CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE", BUT IT’S TEMPORARILY CHANGING. IN HONOR OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE RATIFICATION OF THE 19TH AMENDMENT, WHICH PROHIBITS DENYING CITIZENS FROM VOTING BASED ON GENDER, PHILLY CITY COUNCIL VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO CHANGE OUR NICKNAME TO THE “CITY OF SISTERLY LOVE” FOR THE REST OF 2020.

Love art, elections, and getting involved in local government? We’ve got a project for you. @PhillyVotes is redesigning the “I Voted” sticker, and the contest is open to all Philadelphia residents! Check out the details and submit your design now ➡️ http://bit.ly/34xqtdq

TAYLOR SWIFT’S NEW DOCUMENTARY "MISS AMERICANA" IS NOW AVAILABLE ON NETFLIX AND IN SELECT THEATERS (UNFORTUNATELY NONE IN PHILLY.) IN IT THERE’S A NEW SONG CALLED “ONLY THE YOUNG” AND STARTING NEXT WEEK, WE HAVE YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A TRIP TO SEE TAYLOR AT “LOVER FEST” IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA THIS SUMMER. LISTEN FOR YOUR KEYWORDS STARTING MONDAY MORNING AT 8:10AM.

MOST OF PHILLY WILL BE WATCHING THE SUPER BOWL ON SUNDAY AND A GOOD AMOUNT OF FANS WILL BE ROUTING FOR FORMER EAGLES HEAD COACH, ANDY RIED, TO WIN WITH THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AGAINST THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS. WHAT WE’LL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE MOST IS THE JENNIFER LOPEZ AND SHAKIRA HALFTIME PERFORMANCE IN WHICH THEY PLAN TO REPRESENT FOR MANY PLATFORMS.
