COVID-19 has many of us feeling anxious and wondering what we can do to help make a difference in our community.

Here are some ways to help:

1. First and foremost, social distancing. Seriously, stay home! Also, wash your hands!!!! But we know this one by now, right?

2. Donate to GlobalGiving's Coronavirus Relief Fund. This relief fund organized by the charity crowdfunding platform GlobalGiving aims to raise $5 million for communities that have been impacted by the virus. The money will go toward providing healthcare, food, and water to the places that need it most around the world.

3. Donate blood to the American Red Cross. The Red Cross had to cancel more than 1500 blood drives nationwide due to social distancing. You can still donate by appointment, and you will be screened for symptoms of possible illness before being allowed into a collection area. If you'd like to donate, find a local donation center here.

4. Volunteer for Meals On Wheels. Vulnerable seniors are at the greatest risk amid COVID-19. Local Meals on Wheels programs are on the front lines every day, focused on doing all they can to keep older Americans safe and nourished in communities across the country. You can volunteer or donate money.

5. Help Pets! With many people working from home, now is a good time to adopt or foster a pet. Check your local shelters to see if they are open for adoption or to foster.

6. Buy a gift card to a local restaurant. The restaurant industry is taking a huge hit during this uncertain time, help your favorite local spots by purchasing a gift card to be used at a later time!

7. Take care of your self! Look out for your mental health by taking time to read (something other than the news), exercise, talk to friends and family, create, cook, do anything that brings you joy. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America has created this COVID-19 resource page, and if you are in crisis, text CRISIS to 741741 to be connected to a trained crisis counselor for free, confidential support 24/7.

Lets do our best to stay positive and healthy.
