June 25, 2018

Each year, The World's Ugliest Dog competition holds an epic contest to determine which of many candidates could be christened with the prestigious title.  On Saturday night, at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds in California, the title was claimed, the victor was crowned, and the audience issued a collective gasp of horror/love at the sight of the winner.

Ladies and gentlemen, please meet Zsa Zsa, the newly crowned World's Ugliest Dog 2018! I know you're all jealous of the glamorous places my job takes me! #worldsugliestdog #worldsugliestdogcontest @sonoma_marin_fair #uglydog #souglyshescute #marketinglyfe #nofilter #nofilterneeded #dogsofinstagram @pawscout

This piece of art is Zsa Zsa, a nine year-old English bulldog who lives out her retirement in Minnesota.  Sadly, she had a rough start, with the first part of her life spent as a puppy mill dog who was then abandoned.  However, after being purchased at auction by an organization called Underdog Rescue, she found a furever home at last with loving owner Megan Brainard.

The moral of the story?  Our imperfections are what give us our character, and Zsa Zsa has A LOT of imperfections which add up to one adorable dog with a world title to her name.  Congratulations, Megan and Zsa Zsa!
