Get to Know 96.5 TDY's LA!!!

This on-air personality has personality to spare, on and off the air!

December 17, 2017

If there's one thing LA thing he wants to live on after he's gone, his legacy and the thing he wants people to remember most about's for people to say, "He made the world seem not so bad."

That's a noble goal.

Luckily, LA is just the sort of guy who is capable of doing just that.

LA is one of 96.5TDY's on-air personalities, and BECAUSE he has such personality, we wanted to take the time to get to know him a little better.

LA thrives on excitement.  He simply wants to be a force of happiness in the world, and he's lucky enough to do it through a medium he's passionate about.  He says, "Music is the universal language, because it's not really a language, it's a feeling.  I just hope that I can make you smile in those 7 seconds between songs."  And here's the thing...if you've caught LA's show, then it's pretty much a guarantee that you're already smiling.  His enthusiasm, his joy, his passion for the music bleeds out over the airwaves, and you're left feeling more like you're lounging and listening to tunes with a good friend, than hearing someone you've never met on the radio.

But some things you may not already know?

For one, he's a foodie.  When asked to identify his favorite food, his response was, "Literally anything that tastes good."  In fact, he would love the luxury of a year or two to travel the world and experience other cultures and cuisines.  Musically, his favorite band is Blink-182, his favorite artist is Gryffin, and his favorite song is Yellow Card's "Ocean Avenue."  His very first concert...get ready to swoon...was Jesse McCartney.  He loves the sound of happiness, of someone smiling, but bristles when he hears dogs licking themselves.  Don't get him wrong...he loves dogs; he has three, named Sadie, Nikki, and Jules.  It's just the licking.

Reflecting on what's truly important, LA says, "My family, my girlfriend of over 2 years, my mentors, my doggos, and most, the listener.  Without you, radio wouldn't exist!  Whether you listen to my show or not (but HUGE shout out if you do!), thank you for supporting radio, music, live entertainment, and the arts.

LA would prefer not to reflect on his past embarrassments...he makes the good point that embarrassment is just the realization of what others think about you, and he would prefer not to think about our "What's your most embarrassing moment?" question didn't get a lot of traction, but he was happy to tell us what makes him laugh the hardest:  "My best friends.  When you get on a roll and can't stop laughing, but you also can't breathe?  Yeah, that."

Finally, we asked LA what the happiest moment of his life has been.  This question can often lead to some surprises when we ask it, and LA responded with some sage wisdom.  He says, "I like to think of life an no being a series of "ups & downs", but rather a constant state of getting better.  There's an amount of happiness in everything, you just have to be able to see it.  But I was also beyond excited to land here in Philadelphia right after college and to crack the mic here in this amazing city!"

LA, we could not have said it better ourselves.

You can catch LA on 96.5 TDY from 7 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. weekdays, and you can follow him on Twitter at @laonair.
