Philadelphia Phenom Mo'ne Davis Commits to Play Collegiate Softball

Davis led Philadelphia's Taney Dragons to a famous season in 2014

Do you remember Mo'ne Davis?  This South Philly girl made HUGE headlines back in 2014.  The Taney Dragons, a Little League team out of Philadelphia with which Davis played, made it all the way to the Little League World Series, due in no small part to her pitching.  This phenom can throw fastballs at over 70 mph!

While the Dragons did not end up taking home the top title, Mo'ne's fame was established.

Here she is on Jimmy Fallon after her incredible performance:

Believe it or not, though, it's not even her main sport!  She considers herself a basketball player above all else, though she also plays soccer and fools around with football.

It's softball, though, that is writing the ticket to her future.

Mo'ne has committed to playing softball for Hampton University, a school known for its great Communications department.  That means Philadelphia is losing its darling to Virginia...but we know she'll never forget her roots!

Best of luck playing collegiate ball, Mo'ne!
