Read the Texts from Two Dads Fangirling over Lin-Manuel Miranda

He's the Shakespeare of our generation, so who WOULDN'T be in awe?

December 21, 2018

Unless you don't pay attention to...well, ANYTHING...you've probably heard of Hamilton.  It became hugely popular in 2016, winning 11 Tony awards, and has since spawned a National tour, a West End residency, a PBS documentary, a mix tape, and a slew of men and women alike who are in awe of Hamilton's creator, Lin Manuel Miranda.

Incidentally, Miranda also wrote most of the music and lyrics to the film "Moana", so even if you're not familiar with Broadway, you've probably been influenced by his genius at one point or another.

Well, recently, Miranda posted a tweet with a screenshot detailing a hilarious situation.

Lin was on the bus with his young son, and the father sitting by him naturally recognized the actor.  He sent a text to a group of buddies telling them who was on the bus, and they immediately reacted in the most hilarious of manners.

"TELL HIM YOU LOVE HIS WORK, HUGE FAN OF HIS WORK," one man fangirls.  "THANK YOU FOR MOANA.  THANK YOU FOR HAMILTON.  SAY IT."

His friend urges Jay to tell Lin-Manuel that his little girls now know what a hero looks like, and that hero is female.  Instead, Jay quietly and discreetly showed the conversation on his phone to Miranda, not making a scene and respecting that he was with his child.

We get it, Dad group.  We get it.
