Weekend Buzz

Weekend of 5/11 - 5/13

This week, we quiz some Millenials on the Spice Girls and get a musical performance!

May 11, 2018

This weekend is a big one, and we recognized it in a big way on Bex's Weekend Buzz!

To begin with, we met three youths from Reeds' Refuge Center for the Arts in Delaware, while thirteen of their friends waited inside the performance studio.  We ask them about the Spice Girls...who, naturally, being Millenials, were had no idea until Bex started singing your favorite and mine, "If You Wanna Be My Lover"...and the Backstreet Boys, about Mother's Day yoga and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Then comes the highlight of the Buzz, because we follow Bex into the performance studio and catch a great rendition of "Believe", a song the group wrote and produced.  Reeds' Refuge Center is a community-focused non-profit organization committed to the holistic development and well-being of the children and financially afflicted families of the inner city of Delaware. Reeds’ Refuge Center (RRC) serves as a safe haven from violence, drugs, guns and idle minds by helping youth to discover their creative potential.
